Introducing CDFI “building blocks,” a powerful yet playful solution. It starts with simple, basic shapes that can be built and rearranged to create a fresh identity that is as versatile as the CDFI Incubator’s suite of services.

A library of simple, key shapes was created. And from here, the identity could really “build up!”

Project Details

CDFI Incubator Branding  |  Client: CAMEO (California Association for Micro Enterprise Opportunity)

California-based nonprofit, CAMEO, launched a vital new initiative — the CDFI Incubator — and was in need of a new visual identity, and key printed & digital marketing materials. It offered a suite of training and support programs to small business lenders, allowing them to provide loans to diverse, marginalized and underserved micro-business owners.

The goal: build up a robust, distinctive new sub-brand with a recognizeable, optimistic visual identity; Visually represent the comprehensive suite of programs CDFI Incubator offers; Illustrate how versatile and customizeable the program is; Create a feeling of empowerment and accessibility for those who want to make a big impact with limited means.

The answer: Introducing the CDFI building blocks — a modular, modern, and versatile visual system. Show how you can make a big impact with a basic and simple shapes. Starting with a humble beginnings, be built out a robust, and totally customizeable solution. Even the logo itself can be built and rebuilt, out of these building blocks. The visual vocabulary is simple, but the ways you can combine and build with it is far-reaching and impressive, just like the CDFI Incubator suite of programs.
