Yes Design Shop is a Bay Area-based, full-service design studio run by Alisa Wittkop. I design and make interesting things for clients, for viewers, for the joy of it. The word yes—simple, optimistic, ready for action—is meant to remind me, and you, how exciting it is to make stuff. It's meant to inspire us to try new things: yes to unconventional projects. Yes to tight deadlines. Yes to working together. Yes to rolling up our sleeves and just getting started. And yes, of course, to getting it done on time, within budget, and without loss of sanity.
I believe the best solution isn't always the straight line or the shortest distance: sometimes it's the shot in the dark, the idea that hasn't been tested, the look that's a little less trendy and a little more just-so. I believe good design is what makes sense for the project, what most truthfully conveys the story it's meant to tell, no matter how many risks and revisions and U-turns and late nights it takes to get there.
Let's work together to explore the possibilities and arrive at the perfect balance between what needs to be done and what wants to be done. Whether the work is traditional and clean or inventive and scrappy depends on both of us; either way, the end result will be thoughtful and meaningful—and something that makes us look, think, and smile.
